    November 15, 2018, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM @ Bank Barn

The war often changed women’s roles as they became nurses, shop keepers, factory workers, spies and soldiers. Others suffered from war-time shortages, isolation, poverty and widowhood. Did those changes affect their deportment and relax clothing rules by the close of war in 1865? We will discuss women’s clothing during the Civil War and look at accepted social and fashion customs which were followed by most women at the beginning of the war in 1861. Presented by Linda Duffy of the Pencader Heritage Area Association. Pencader Heritage Area Association brings history's battles, bad-guys, heroes and innovators to life. Our local history is down-right thrilling! Learn about the area’s past and see related artifacts. Each session concludes with a fun mini-quiz and prizes. Ages 12+
