Childhood imagination comes to life at the 6th Annual Faerie Festival this Sunday at Rockwood Park

Wilmington, DE – This Sunday, September 16 from noon to 4 p.m., New Castle County’s Rockwood Park welcomes faeries, pirates, gnomes, princesses, super heroes, knights, trolls and kids of all ages for the 6th Annual Faerie Festival.  This free event features games, enchanted crafts, costume parades, face painting, a bubble festival, performances and children’s museum tours, along with a bounce house, story time, food trucks, merchants selling festive wares and visits from the Fairy Queen and magical surprise guests!

“Faerie Fest brings childhood imagination to life through costume, art and performance,” said County Executive Matt Meyer. “Calling all kids to come dressed for the occasion, bring along your family and join in the fun!”

Convenient free parking and complimentary shuttle service will be provided from the Rockwood Office Park, located at 501 Carr Road, Wilmington, which is accessible from Washington Street Extension.

Last year’s Faerie Festival welcomed 6,000 children and families.

Built in 1851 as the retirement estate of Wilmington native Joseph Shipley, Rockwood reflects his love of English architecture and landscape design.
