New Castle County Summer Youth Employment Program


The application period for the New Castle County Summer Youth Employment Program has been extended. Applications are now being accepted through 11:59 a.m., April 29, 2020.

The New Castle County Summer Youth Employment Program is designed to engage New Castle County, including the City of Wilmington, youth ages 14-20 in paid work-based learning opportunities that can help them launch their careers. The employment program runs annually from June - August. (Please note that employment dates and details my change or be impact by COVID-19 restriction.)

Required documents must be uploaded to the online application including ID and income documentation as outlined below. Please make sure that ID images are clear. 

Before applying, please have the following documents ready to attach to your application (supported file types: .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pdf, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .htm, .html, .rtf). All documents must be clearly readable:

Youth Applicant’s Photo Identification:

  • Government-issued (not expired) photo ID or driver’s license; OR
  • Current school-issued photo ID; OR
  • Current United States passport.

Proof of Parental/Guardian Income:

  • 2019 W-2; OR three (3) most recent pay stubs; OR
  • Agency letter verifying TANF, social security, pension/retirement benefits, DE Healthy Child Program, or other sources of income, if applicable; OR
  • If the parent/guardian is self-employed, business license with most recent business tax return.
