We are excited to welcome you back to the Hockessin Recreation Center. To keep everyone safe, participants are required to complete a health screening form at each visit and follow the COVID protocols below.

Indoor Walking

Monday-Thursday, 8-10 a.m.

Get your steps in even in bad weather by walking the perimeter of the HRC gym.


Mondays, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Fridays, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Beginning Monday, March15th

Pickleball is back at the HRC and you can get 12 plays for $30. Reservations are required. Please call (302) 598-6123 to reserve your court time. No drop-ins allowed.

Early Bird Gets the Burn

9:15am -10:15 am

Instructor Eric Wolf combines full-body strength training with periods of cardiovascular exercise. All ability levels are encouraged to attend as exercises can be adapted, and the intensity scaled, to meet the individual ‘s needs.  All attendees will be required to fill out a Health Screen and wear masks and observe social distancing.

Classes are held outdoors on clean pavement in the parking lot. Please bring your own personal equipment (dumbbells, exercise mat, etc.), small towel and water.  Registration required.


Progressive Line Dance

6 classes $36

4/14, 4/21. 4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19

Session 1: 12:15-1:15pm  

Session 2: 6:00-7:00 pm

Looking for some spring fitness fun?  Hockessin Recreation Center offering Outdoor Progressive Line Dancing. Instructor, Joanne Brady, will raise your heart rate and mood with this upbeat fitness class. Dress to move, wear your sunscreen and bring your water bottle. All attendees will be required to fill out a health screen, wear masks, and observe social distancing. Registration required.

Important Notes & COVID-19 Protocols

  • No spectators allowed. 
  • Only participants and staff are permitted in the facility for our programs. 
  • Face coverings must be worn at all times. 
  • COVID screening: each time you enter the facility, NCC staff will take your temperature and have you complete a COVID health screening. The digital health screening form is accessible via the link in this email and a QR code posted at the check-in table. Using your smart phone camera (or barcode reader app) participants should scan the QR code which will take you to the digital form. Please input your name, temperature, activity/program, and answer 3 questions. 
  • If you answer ‘Yes’ to any questions you should let the NCC Staff member know and they will contact Admin to determine if you are eligible to participate. 
  • If all answers are ‘No’ you can continue into the gym for your activity.
