The Art Therapy Express Program and New Castle County Department of Community Services have formed a partnership to provide art opportunities utilizing adaptive devices and media with the goal of increasing creativity, self-esteem, self-expression, friendships and joy. All classes are inclusive and offer participants the chance to learn both visual and expressive arts by Master’s Level art therapist Lisa Bartoli. Sessions are available for school programs, individuals and non-profit organizations that serve children and adults with physical, intellectual and emotional disabilities.
Art Therapy Express art therapist and guest artists will introduce a variety of 2 and 3 dimensional media tailored to meet the needs of YOUR specific group. Classes will expose participants to a wide range of art media such as clay, sculpture, watercolor and acrylic painting, drawing, pastels and mixed media. Adaptive Group Art Classes can be scheduled as a one day experience or on an ongoing basis during the week 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Cost per session: $160 (up to 8 participants). Open studio will expose participants to a wide range of art media and expressive arts (clay, sculpture, watercolor and acrylic painting, drawing, photography, oil pastels, mixed media, music, creative movement and drama) with Art Therapy Express art therapist and guest artists. They will also have the ability to work on projects on a long term basis. Community outings will be held to The Delaware Art Museum, Longwood Gardens and World Cafe Live. All sessions are success oriented, so participants know they are artists!
