New Castle County and DelDOT are locating and inventorying all drainage inlets into the stormwater drainage system. A marker is placed in a visible location at each drainage inlet. The marker features the water quality message “ONLY RAIN DOWN THE STORM DRAIN”. These markers will serve as a reminder to all of us that what we put on the land eventually ends up in our waterways. Drainage inlet location coordinates are recorded with a GPS and used to create a map of the drainage system including drainage inlets and the corresponding outlets as recorded in the dry weather screening.
