As of January 2, 2009, all New Castle County Libraries will be closed on Sundays and at 5pm on Thursdays. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The New Castle County Libraries will be closed on Thursday, January 1 New Year's holiday.

All libraries will close at 5 on Wednesday, December 31. Newark, Brandywine Hundred, Hockessin, Corbit-Calloway, Delaware City and Bear libraries will be open 10-5 on Friday, January 2. All other County libraries will be closed on that day.

Library hours will move to a regular schedule beginning January 3.

Please renew your items early to avoid confusion.

The New Castle Public Library has closed for renovation as of Sunday, 10/12/08. During their remodel, they will be operating a temporary location at 304 Delaware Street, New Castle, DE 19720. Contact information can be found on our Library Hours page.

The Kirkwood Highway Library has CLOSED for reconstruction as of Monday, February 11, 2008. Read the press release here.

On March 1, Bear and Newark Libraries will be opening seven days per week and they and the Brandywine Hundred Library will be expanding their Sunday hours to 1pm to 8pm. See our updated hours page for more information.
