Universal Design

Universal Design is a series of standards for construction that accommodates a broad variety of needs, generally incorporating a main level that does not require the use of stairs, wider doors to allow for wheelchair access, door knobs that do not require a twisting motion and other elements.  Below are a variety of documents that provide greater information about universal design and how to add it to your home or office or to incorporate it into new construction.

The documents below are from the North Carolina State University College of Design.
