Professional, yet Personalized Instruction Our art programs are offered in small group settings, where students can receive special attention from our instructors. No instructor is too busy teaching to answer any questions, and classes have a maximum enrollment of 12 people. The majority of our staff are professional artists, so that students of The Art Studio receive instruction from some of the best artists along the East Coast.
About the Art Studio
The Art Studio is the fine arts education center of New Castle County's Department of Community Services. Since 1973, the Art Studio has offered a wide variety of visual arts classes for children and adults.Small classes in a relaxed setting give participants one-on-one interaction with instructors.We offer fun Saturday morning art classes for children, as well as summer art camps for the budding artist.Summer art camps give children ages 6-17 the chance to explore and experience new mediums.The Art Studio makes fine art programs available throughout New Castle County with classes at the four Community Activity Centers.
The Art Studio is open Monday through Thursday 9:30am to 9pm, and on Saturday mornings from 9am to noon. We are located in the Absalom Jones Community Center at 310 Kiamensi Road in Newport, Delaware.
