Colonel E.M. Setting Promotes 5 Officers

New Castle County Police Chief E. M. Setting proudly announced earlier today the promotion of five police officers to supervisory ranks within the police department. The following officers have been promoted and soon will be given their new assignments:

Captain Matthew Jamison, a 29 year veteran of the police department, who has been assigned to the Patrol Division, as a Risk Manager, and was the Commander of the Professional Development Unit as well as the Commander of the Uniformed Section/Patrol Division. Captain Jamison was promoted to Sergeant in 1993, Lieutenant in 1996 and Captain in 1999. Earlier today he was promoted to the rank of Major.

Lieutenant Ruben Martinez, a 20 year veteran of the police department, who has been assigned to the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Unit, Community Services Unit, was the Patrol Division’s “D-Squad” Commander as well as the Commander of the Special Operations Unit. Lieutenant Martinez was promoted to Sergeant in 2004, Senior Sergeant in 2008 and Lieutenant in 2009. Earlier today he was promoted to the rank of Captain.

Lieutenant Wendi Feeser, a 16 year veteran of the police department, who has been assigned to the Patrol Division, Information Analysis Unit, was the Patrol Division’s “C-Squad” Commander as well as the Commander of the Administrative Branch/Special Projects. Lieutenant Feeser was promoted to Sergeant in 2006 and Lieutenant in 2009. Earlier today she was promoted to the rank of Captain.

Senior Sergeant Richard Dunning, an 18 year veteran of the police department, who has been assigned to the Patrol Division and the Criminal Investigations Unit. Senior Sergeant Dunning was promoted to Sergeant in 2006 and Senior Sergeant in 2010. Earlier today he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.

Detective Stephen Legenstein, a 16 year veteran of the police department, who has been assigned to the Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Unit. During his tenure in the unit he has been assigned to the Property Squad, Crimes against Persons Squad and Major Crimes Squad. Earlier today he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Promotions take effect immediately. A promotional ceremony will be announced in the near future.
