Operation Backlog Nets $1.5 Million for New Castle County

Register of Wills Ciro Poppiti presented a check for more than $1.5 million to County Executive Tom Gordon, as head of New Castle County, during an event commemorating the third anniversary of Operation Backlog.

Operation Backlog is an Office of Register of Wills initiative to reduce the number of “stale” estates dating back to the year 2000. A “stale” estate generally refers to those estates which have never been properly closed.

The initiative has generated over $1 million for New Castle County, while providing communication to beneficiaries and creditors.

Register of Wills Poppiti thanked County Executive Gordon for his administration's support for Operation Backlog.
