Employees are entitled to vacation as follows:
1 - 4 years of service - 10 days
5 - 9 years of service - 15 days
10 - 14 years of service - 20 days
15 years of service - 25 days
15+ years of service - 25 days plus one additional day for each successive year of accumulated service in the following year
There are 10 1/2 paid holidays (half day on Christmas Eve) at the "double-time and a half" rate, as well as three floating holidays per year.
Twelve days of sick leave are provided per year.
A variety of programs are currently available with varied levels of co-pay. The insurance starts on the first day of the month after 90 days of completed service. Benefits are also provided to the employee upon retirement along with credit for the retiree's spouse.
Life insurance is provided by the county in the amount of one and one-half times your salary. The minimum benefit is $50,000, and the maximum benefit is $200,000.
Salary increases each year dependent upon appropriate negotiated increases and/or merit increases. Credit Union, blood bank, dental plan, limited tuition reimbursement, savings bonds, deferred compensation plan, additional life insurance policies, and flexible spending accounts are optional benefits.
