Solar Eclipse Events & Programs

WOW! What is going on with the sun?

Get ready for the total eclipse of the sun on August 21 with the New Castle County Libraries. Learn about the astronomical phenomenon and how to view the eclipse safely. Programs include solar eclipse basics,  how to make a pinhole viewer projector to safely view the eclipse, music inspired by the event and more.

Due to overwhelming demand, all libraries have depleted their limited supply of eclipse glasses. Check out this fun project from The Franklin Institute!https://www.fi.edu/summer-of-space/eclipse/pinhole-camera to help you view the eclipse safely from home, or come out to one of the viewing events at our libraries listed below.
